Reading, PA (May 15, 2012) – Elbeco, Inc. is proud to
announce that it has signed on for the second year as the a major of
“Team Sac PD,” a group of law enforcement officers bicycling 3,000 miles across
the United States to raise funds and awareness for the National Law Enforcement
Memorial in Washington, DC.
Team
Sac PD will participate in The Race Across America, a national coast-to-coast
bicycle race set for June 16 – 25, 2012. The team will use the race as a
platform to honor the over 19,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line
of duty by carrying their names, visiting local and state memorials, and
encouraging media coverage of their efforts. They also will solicit funds
for the National Law Enforcement Memorial, so that those whose lives have been
lost can be properly recognized.
“As
a longtime supporter of the law enforcement community and having personally met
the men and women of Team Sac PD, I and Elbeco are pleased to sponsor Team Sac
PD again this year,” said Elbeco President, David Lurio. “Elbeco
encourages all of our customers, partners, friends and family to support this
important initiative” adds Lurio. All funds donated will support
the National Law Enforcement Memorial. To learn more about Team Sac PD
and how you can donate, please visit http://www.sacpd.org/teamsacpd/raam/.
In
2011, Team SacPD exceeded the projected race time by over half a day, crossing
the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland in 6 days, 6 hours, and 8 minutes. The
team’s goal for 2012 is to not only improve on their 2011 team time, but also
bring greater attention and contributions to the National Memorial. Team
Sac PD encourages all to join them in their efforts by supporting them on their
journey, either in person or virtually via their website, http://www.sacpd.org/teamsacpd/raam/follow.html.
The team departs Oceanside Pier, Oceanside, California on Saturday June 16,
2012, and is expected to arrive at the City Dock, Annapolis MD on or about June
22, 2012. A listing of planned stops throughout the race can be found at
the Race Across America website, http://www.raceacrossamerica.org/raam/raam2.php?N_webcat_id=24.
